"This commentary is not part of the Credo, but is one interpretation of certain elements of it. In particular, it deals with those concepts that I feel may be in need of further clarification. These are my interpretations of those words. Other interpretations are of course possible."
(My own feeling is that the Credo is quite straightforward without additional clarification, but I think Harrison did a nice job with this.)
"Why not do as Quentin Smith suggests, "if you have religious feelings then direct them upon what actually exist, our universe, all human beings and all life forms." or like Frederick Edwords member of AHA, he suggest that secular myth could function as supportive emotive expressions that help us to live a good life."
"We all feel the riddle of the earth without anyone to point it out. The mystery of life is the plainest part of it."It is quite interesting to note this sentiment being expressed not only by Chesterton (well known as an apologist for Christianity), but by "religious" thinkers of other stripes -- for example in Taoism and various Indian (broadly, "Hindu") schools, and additionally by the Scientific Pantheists (a non-theistic creed) as well as by various scientists of generally "materialist"/"naturalistic"/"atheist" worldviews.
